Good Mother Studio

Good Mother was founded in 2014 by brothers Ian and Jared Jethmal and quickly become a mainstay gallery in the Oakland art scene. The studios mission is to advance public interest in innovative experimental work; to identify and exhibit the work of under-represented artists, and to engage the local community through participation in the arts. Good Mother is founded by artists in the community and is for the artists and the community alike.

After eight years in their original space, [working] helped relocate Good Mother to Suite E in Uptown Station – taking over a vacant space in an historic and underutilized building in the heart of downtown Oakland.

In this new space at Uptown Station, Good Mother transformed into Good Mother Studio and has continued to show hundreds of artists through group and solo shows, artist talks, and pop-ups.
